DAY 2 - Jeju Island/ Dongmun Traditional Market/Black Pork Street/ Jungang Underground Shopping Street

We took Jeju Air and our flight was at 1 pm. Before departing to Gimpo Airport, we headed out for breakfast. I bet you know this famous toast called Issac Toast with very good reviews and is recommended by everyone I know. There's one kiosk nearby our guesthouse, about 5 minutes walk and the store is run by a family I guess. It's located in the alley, so be sure not to miss the entrance! There're 2 other stores in Hongdae main shopping area ,you can visit if you have more time. As we were going to the airport soon after hence we opt for the nearest.

Speaking of that, I already started missing the toast!

Early in the morning with my puffy face, heading out for breakfast

Issac Toast is just across the road

There's only 1 table, which is the one we were seated. Lucky! So now we can enjoy our breakfast leisurely

How to get there:
Exit from Exit 9 of Hongyik Univ st, walk appx 5 minutes (Refer to map below ↓)

On our way back to guesthouse and we saw this huge poster of Avengers!

After check out from the guesthouse, we departed to Gimpo Airport around 11 a.m. Eventually our flight was delayed for 2- 3 hours, due to overcrowded flights in Gimpo Airport. It was school holidays that time which was a mistake to travel to Jeju on that few days, cause every sightseeing spot was crowded with locals & tourists. SO! be mindful on this and do check the calendar.

How to get to Gimpo Airport from Hongyik Univ St.
Take A line ( airport line) , only 1 station apart, no transfer needed

Told you this is a great app ↓↓↓↓

All airlines' check in counters ( Asiana, Eastar Jet, Jeju Air & etc..)  are located at 2nd Floor, meanwhile Departure Hall is located at 3rd Floor.
Basically there's clear signage for tourists so need not to worry! ;)

That vibrant colour of Jeju Air, I am sure you wouldn't overlook!

Time to snack on while killing time in the airport

This tasted like cough syrup to me. Hmmm

1 hour & 10 minutes of beautiful view from the top
========================================================================

After an hour flight, we arrived in Jeju International Airport, and it was almost 6.pm. There are 4 options for you to travel out of Jeju Airport, depends on your destination, either Seogwipo ( South of Jeju) or Jeju City

To Seogwipo ( about 1 hour journey)

1) Limousine Bus #600
2) Taxi, if you have more budget

To Jeju City

1) City Bus  #36, 37, 38, 70, 90, 95, 100, 200, 500
2) Taxi
3) Rental Car (with valid driving license)

Our guesthouse is in old Jeju City so we decided to take taxi. Remember to have address& contact number of your guesthouse or hotel with you, better if in Korean. It will be easier for the taxi driver, mostly ajussi to recognize your destination.

Yeap, that was the queue waiting for taxi to Jeju city. It was almost 6.30pm when we got on taxi.

This is the Ajussi whom drives us to the guesthouse, he was trying very hard to communicate             and chat with us HAHA. So in order to reply him, I have used every single Korean words that I learnt from the drama and......it WORKS! 🤣
======================================================================

This is our accommodation in Jeju, specifically located in Old Jeju City. Hearing from the name, Yes Old Jeju is quieter at night. I heard New Jeju City is much more happening. But it was fine for us because we were there to enjoy the serene of Jeju Island. Also, it's closer to Dongmun Market & the Black Pork Street. I live to eat, that's why!

I could not find the room we were staying on their site, I guess they have change their room layout. So, this is our room, very spacious and comfy.

Dongmun Traditional Market, where the locals shop and you can find many delicacies of Jeju here. This is the place where I bought my souvenirs. If you are going to Black Pork Street you would not missed out Dongmun as this is the route to get to BPS. You can check out the route with my map below↓↓↓↓
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chilsung-Fashion Street, it's a short walking street selling branded clothing, shoes, cosmetics & etc. We didn't stay too long at this place, as we knew we can get all these stuffs back in Seoul. This is also one of the places en route to BPS.You can check out the route with my map below↓↓↓↓

As you may heard, Jeju is famous with Black Pork which with a superior taste from its mainland counterpart. Besides, the pigs are native only to Jeju and the supply of it is controlled, hence the dishes is only available at a few restaurants. You can find row of restaurants serving bbq black pork & regular pork at the Black Pork Street ( Heuk Dweji Kori). So out of so many restaurants, we picked " Tun Hyang Ki"
Reasons? Nothing much, we read a review from a blogger and it looked yummy. HAHA
Overall is good but don't overcooked the meat ( IKR,who else will do that except me) Price is slightly higher which is expected ,since the supply is limited and only available in Jeju so I guess that's what we paid for right.
Dinner for Day 2 done! Happy tummy.

Sorry, I know my photo doesn't portray any "yumminess" at all, I will improve on my photo taking skill, promise!

How to get to Black Pork Street: (from Orange Tree Hotel)

The distance may seem far, but actually it's not so bad. Just enjoy the view along the way ;)

 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Soon after dinner we headed to Jungang Underground Shopping Street for a leisure walk. Jungang is a center with over 280 stores selling mostly woman stuffs like clothing, accessories, cosmetic & etc. Nothing really surprising here, apparently we were just having LEISURE walk. Some said things here are cheaper but I personally thinks that we could get better price in Seoul, especially for clothing. (I will write about the best places where you could get cheaper & fashionable clothes on next posts). This is from my own judgement though. Do not deceive, do not deceive.

There are 11 entrances/ exits at Jungang, the nearest to Dongmun Market is Exit 6. Meanwhile for us or for one who is going to stay in Orange Tree, the nearest exit will be Exit 8.

That's the end of the day!
On the following day,we went to east of Jeju, visited Sunrise Peak (Seongsan ilchubong) which listed in UNESCO World Heritage ,Seopjikoji & Ecoland. Stay Tuned!
